In our Fondant Basics Workshop you will learn how to make your own fondant, in white and in dark colors. I will teach you my personal recipe which is elastic and resistant to humidity and hot climates. 

You will practice how to cover the cake in fondant using 2 different methods, including the  panelling method to create a smooth clean finish and those beautiful sharp edges, and to finish it off you will be decorating a 3 tier cake in a delicate elegant design. 


HAVING PRIOR BASIC BAKING KNOWLEDGE/EXPERIENCE IS REQUIRED 

You will learn:

  • 2 Fondant recipes: one for white fondant and one for dark colors (you will practice the recipe in class)
  • I will teach you my techniques on how to handle the fondant efficiently, my favorite tools and where to get them
  • Then you will learn to cover the cake in fondant using both the draping and panelling methods, creating a beautiful clean finish with sharp edges. 
  • And last but not least you will decorate your 3 tier cake with an elegant design including how to make a beautiful bow, ribbon roses, draped pleats, and texture embossing.

  • This class is hands on, semi private and will be held in our studio located in East Orlando Fl. 
  • There will only be 6 students per session to provide you with individualized attention, and each student will have a full size workstation 
  • This class will last approximately 8 hours but can run a little later depending on the group dynamics

Divine Cake Design began in 2011 while serving with the Puerto Rico Police Department as an Officer. A year later, in 2012, after 18 years of service, I was presented with an early retirement opportunity that allowed me to pursue my dream of becoming a full-time entrepreneur.

Then I dedicated myself to practicing and mastering different techniques, learning the latest trends in cake decorating, which led Divine Cake Designs to be at the forefront of creating incredible wedding and celebration cakes for all occasions in the metropolitan area of ​​the island.

Three years later, at the request of my followers, I began teaching my cake decorating secrets for achieving sharp edges and clean elegant designs, which is my signature style. After the first class I absolutely fell in love with that experience of interacting, sharing my knowledge and experiences with students and colleagues.

Soon after, I added several classes, from complete basic baking for beginners, to cake decorating techniques workshops and some online classes, having taught thousands of students to begin their sweet journey.

In 2017, after Puerto Rico was devastated by Hurricanes Irma and Maria, I decided it was time to move to the mainland and now we currently offer our services here in Orlando, Florida.

I am passionate about the sugar arts, and being able to offer my students an opportunity for growth through our classes is the greatest reward
